Comma.ai / OpenPilot
Overview
Open-source driver assistance system that runs on a comma device, turning compatible cars into semi-autonomous vehicles with lane centering, adaptive cruise, and driver monitoring.
Full Description
Comma.ai, founded by former Apple engineer George Hotz, makes openpilot — an open-source advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) that can be installed on hundreds of compatible car models. Unlike proprietary FSD systems, openpilot's full codebase is on GitHub, making it a unique intersection of open-source culture and autonomous driving technology. The comma 3X device plugs into your car's OBD port and delivers lane centering, adaptive cruise control, and driver monitoring powered by end-to-end neural networks trained on millions of miles of real-world driving data.
